On-Road Tyres for Electric Scooters
On-road tyres, as the name suggests, are best suited for smooth, paved roads, making them an ideal choice for commuting.
They feature a less aggressive tread pattern compared to off-road tyres, delivering excellent rolling efficiency on concrete or asphalt surfaces.
The lack of larger knobs on the tyre tread also leads to less noise production, contributing to a quieter ride.
How to Install an On-road Tyre?
Start by detaching the wheel from the scooter's frame and deflating any remaining air from the old tyre. Employ a tyre lever or flat-head screwdriver to gently pry off the old tyre from the wheel rim, taking care not to damage the rim in the process. Extract the old inner tube.
Insert the new inner tube within the new tyre. Begin by fitting one side of the tyre onto the rim, followed by the other side. This can be challenging: a tyre lever might come in handy. Once the tyre and the tube are positioned correctly on the rim, inflate them using an air pump to 45 PSI, avoiding over-inflation. Finally, reattach the wheel to the scooter, ensuring correct alignment, and secure it with bolts.
