Extended Warranty - Terms and Conditions

1. Warranty Duration

1.1. Customers who have purchased a Personal Electric Vehicle (PEV) from Escooter Clinic can extend their warranty for an additional 1 or 2 years beyond the standard 1-year warranty provided with all new and refurbished PEVs.

2. Eligibility

2.1. This extended warranty is available only to the original purchaser of the PEV from Escooter Clinic.
2.2. The warranty is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash, vouchers, or store credit.

3. Coverage

3.1. The extended warranty covers all manufacturer defects.
3.2. Exclusions: The following are not covered under this warranty:
- Wear and tear parts, including but not limited to: brake pads, tyres, tubes, and rubber parts
- Damage resulting from misuse, accidents, or lack of maintenance
- Water damage (unless the product is clearly labeled as waterproof)
- Any damage resulting from use beyond normal riding conditions (e.g., jumps, stunts, racing, or any other extreme usage)

4. Maintenance Requirements

4.1. To maintain warranty validity, the PEV must be serviced every 6 months.
4.2. Services must be performed at Escooter Clinic, except as noted in 4.3.
4.3. If Escooter Clinic does not have a location within 25 miles of the customer's residence, service may be performed at another reputable shop. Customers should contact Escooter Clinic for recommendations of shops within the National Coverage PEV Repair Centre Programme.
4.4. Alternatively, Escooter Clinic can arrange collection and delivery of the PEV for servicing at an additional cost. Contact contact@escooterclinic.co.uk for pricing and details.

5. Warranty Voiding Conditions

5.1. Any attempts to fix or disassemble the product by the customer will void the warranty.
5.2. Water Damage and Wet Conditions:
- The warranty will only be voided if water ingress occurs, causing damage to the internal components or electronics of the PEV.
- Customers may use their PEV in wet conditions at their own risk and responsibility.
- While occasional use in light rain or on damp surfaces may not immediately void the warranty, it is strongly advised to avoid prolonged exposure to wet conditions.
- Escooter Clinic recommends taking precautions to prevent water from entering the device, such as avoiding deep puddles and drying the PEV thoroughly after use in wet conditions.
- Regular inspections for any signs of water ingress are advised after use in wet conditions.
- Note: This clause does not apply to PEVs explicitly labeled and sold as waterproof. For such devices, please refer to the specific waterproof rating and guidelines provided.
5.3. Continued use of a faulty or damaged product may void the warranty.

6. Claim Process

6.1. If a defect is noticed, the customer must stop using the PEV immediately and contact Escooter Clinic.
6.2. The customer is responsible for bringing the PEV to the Escooter Clinic store for assessment and warranty checks/repairs.
6.3. If the product is found to be in violation of the warranty terms, the customer may be required to cover the costs of the checkup (at Escooter Clinic's discretion).

7. Liability

7.1. Escooter Clinic will not be held liable for extended damages due to improper use of the PEV.

8. Additional Terms

8.1. Storage Charges:
- A storage charge of £5 per day may apply only under the following conditions:
a) If there is a charge to be paid for any reason, and the customer fails to clear the outstanding balance within 7 days of the invoice being issued.
b) If the customer takes more than 7 days to respond to estimates sent by Escooter Clinic.
8.2. A diagnostic fee of £30 for scooters and £50 for other PEVs may apply.
8.3. If a warranty claim is denied, a minimum diagnostic fee of £50 applies.

By purchasing this extended warranty, the customer agrees to all terms and conditions stated herein.
